Introduction
The Work order expense forecast from functional location feature allows you to automatically initialize work order expense forecast records from the functional location hierarchy when creating a new work order or adding a new maintenance job to an existing work order.
The system copies expense forecast records configured on functional locations and combines them with expense forecast records configured on maintenance job type defaults.
This helps ensure that forecasted expenses are automatically added based on the selected functional location and maintenance job type.
- Go to System administration > Workspaces > Feature management.
- On the Feature management page, locate Dynaway - Work order expense forecast from functional location in the list of features.
- Select the feature, and then select Enable now (see screenshot 01).
- After the feature is enabled, the required setup and buttons become available in asset management.

To configure expense forecast records:
- Go to Asset management > Functional locations > All functional locations.
- From the list of functional locations, open the required functional location.
- On the Functional location details page, go to the Work order expense forecast tab (see screenshot 01).
- Add the expense forecast records that should automatically be copied to work orders.
- Save the changes.
- When you create a new work order maintenance job using a functional location within the same hierarchy, the configured expense forecast records are automatically copied to the Work order maintenance forecast (see screenshot 02).
- If the selected functional location does not contain any expense forecast records, the system automatically searches the upper functional location hierarchy and uses the first functional location that contains configured expense forecast records.
- The system also continues to initialize expense forecast records from the Maintenance job type defaults setup. As a result, the final work order expense forecast can contain records from:
- Functional location setup
- Maintenance job type defaults setup
01: The 'Functional location details' page with the 'Work order expense forecast' tab.
02: The 'Work order maintenance forecast' page with the expense forecast records automatically copied.
To review configured work order expense forecast records:
- Go to Asset management > Inquiries > Functional locations > Work order expense forecast (see screenshot 01).
- You will be directed to the Work order expense forecast page (see screenshot 02), where you can quickly review all expense forecast records configured on functional locations.
- If you need to adjust a specific setup record, select the required functional location.
- On the Functional location details page, go to the Work order expense forecast tab.
- Update the required expense forecast records.

Expense forecast records created from functional locations are automatically updated with project cost prices and sales prices based on the setup in the standard Project management and accounting module.
The system applies the configured cost prices and sales prices automatically when forecast records are created.
To update prices for forecast records (see screenshot 01), go to:
- Project management and accounting > Setup > Prices > Cost price (Expense)
- Project management and accounting > Setup > Prices > Sales price (Expense)
This behavior is aligned with the existing functionality for work order expense forecast records created from maintenance job type defaults.
