Edit Job Type Setup

From the Job type setup, you can change the unique combination of a Job type setup record.

To use this functionality go to:

  1. Enterprise Asset Management > Setup > Work orders > Jobs > Job type setup.
  2. Choose a line from your setup.
  3. In the top panel click the Edit record button to edit the job type setup line.

Linked Job Type Setup

It is possible to add a linked Job type setup to a Job type setup. Such linked jobs are automatically created when a work order line, which uses the Job type setup, is created.

To use this functionality go to:

  1. Enterprise Asset Management > Setup > Work orders > Jobs > Job type setup.
  2. From job type setup, select Linked job types and click 'New' to start adding linked job types.
  3. On 'Linked job types' form it is possible to specify the job type, trade, and variant of the line to be automatically created. See example of linked job types in the screenshot below.
  4. Click 'Save' when you have finished setting up the Linked job types. The linked jobs are created in line number order, ascending.

Work order lines created for linked job types are created for the same object as the original work order line that triggered their creation.

The type of object which the linked job is created for is also considered along with the job type association. This means that when a job type, for instance 'Inspection', is selected for a specific object type, then this work order line will be created. If you have not selected a job type, for instance 'Electrical calibrations' in the screenshot below, on the specific object type, you will be informed that the job type is lacking setup.

Note: automatically created work order lines do not trigger automatic linked job creation.

Inspection is chosen as a linked job type while Electrical calibrations among others is not selected, meaning it is not linked.
