For a service contract to be applied to a work order, the Work order type field, along with valid from and valid to dates, customer account and assets can be used, based on which the application will find the right service contract to be applied. The rule for applying a service contract when there is a work order type defined is different from when there is no work order type defined.
Note:
A validation has been added to prevent overlapping active service contracts with identical combinations of asset, work order type, and validity period. This ensures that only one active service contract applies to a specific work order and its customer asset(s) at any time. This validation ensures that each work order is matched with only one relevant active service contract, eliminating conflicts and maintaining data integrity.
