When the project field on a service contract is filled, it serves as the parent project for all work orders associated with that contract.
Based on whether the project ID field is filled in or not, the work order picks the project:
- If the Project ID field is filled: The project ID is used as parent project for work orders related to service contract.
- Note:
- If the project assigned in the work order pool is different from the project in the service contract, then the application will display an error message.
- When creating a new work order, the project ID mentioned in the service contract takes precedence over:
- Project from selected work order pool (if Shutdown, Turnarounds & Outage product is used).
- Project from related work order parent project setup on work order type (if Advanced asset management product is used).
- Project from work order project setup.
- If the Project ID field on service contract is left blank: If the Project ID field in the service contact is left blank, the system will use the project as previously set up, prioritizing the work order pool, related work order parent project setup, or work order project setup.
