Asset Activity Board (AAB) is a new planning board created by Dynaway. Previous board (Scheduling Board) is focused on resources and work related to them. AAB is focused on assets from the system and some activities in the company that can be related with asset.
On the AAB you can see:
To use AAB you need to add an access for the user in the Maintenance Employee table.
Dynaway prepared two default permission sets for Board. Both are defined by the name and must be applied to the user based on needs – 'scheduler' if the user can edit board, 'read' if the user can only open the board.
AAB needs basic setup which is added by default after installation. Setup can be changed later. Asset Activity Board Setup page contains global setup that is applied for each user.
Main page contains all data that is needed to create labels and tooltips for objects on the AAB.
Each object has its own legend to help changing the setup from the default one.
If you want to restore setup and use default one – use Restore Defaults action from the toolbar.
On the Asset Activity Board Setup, you can also set up all colors used on the AAB. Go to Set Up Colors on the toolbar and choose proper action. For example, if you want to set up colors for Work Order Statuses: go to Set Up Colors > Work Orders > Work Order Statuses. It will open a list of Work Order Statuses where you can define color for statuses in your company.
From the Asset Activity Board Setup page, you can also check and manage filters created by all users. To do this go to Filters > Users Filters from the toolbar.
As you can see on the screenshot – saved filter contains information about the type of the board for which this filter was created. This value can not be changed. Filters created for AAB work only on the AAB, filters created for Scheduling Board, work only on the Scheduling Board.
AAB is added to the Assets group on the manager Role Center but can be also open from search.
When you are opening AAB for the first time – the default User Setup for AAB is being created. It means that each user can create his own layout of the AAB.
When the AAB is open – select User Setup… action from the toolbar to open your User Setup page. By default – not all options are visible but all of them can be shown by personalization.
Setup tab is a part where you can configure basic setup for your board.
Use Dates To Create Board – you can define if you want to use exact dates for starting/ending AAB
If true:
Starting Date – define the first day visible on the AAB
Ending Date – define the last day visible on the AAB
If false:
Keep in mind that here you are defining only starting/ending date of the board – if there is a situation that board is starting at some point, but there exists activity that is finishing after AAB starting date – it will be still visible on the board, but it's block will not have starting point – in such cases labels might not be visible. Below you will find an example.
This is the same activity when the whole block is visible.
Default Filter – define the filter that will be applied automatically to the board every time you open the AAB.
To check filters created by you – go to Related > User Filters action on the toolbar. You will see all filters created by you for both boards (AAB and Scheduling Board).
To remove default filter – go to Related > Remove Default Filter action on the toolbar.
Here you can turn on/off objects visible on the board.
What is important – all these options can be easily controlled from the toolbar visible on the AAB – you can read more about it in the chapter about the toolbar.
Assets tab is a part where you can configure how Assets are created on the AAB.
Group Assets – specify how you want to organize your assets on the board. You can create a view where used grouping method is:
Asset Color – specify what is the source of the asset color. Source can be:
**Show Empty Group** - define if you want to see empty groups on the AAB. This option has no impact when assets are grouped by parent. Empty group can mean two different scenarios depends if the action Assets With Object* on the AAB is ON or not.
**Groups Collapsed*** - define if every time you open a board all groups will be in collapsed state.
**Show Groups Only*** - define if you want to see only groups on the AAB. Sometimes this option might be useful if you want to be focused on what is going on in groups (for example asset locations).
User Setup – Work Orders
Work Orders tab is a part where you can configure how Work Orders (and their simulations) are created on the AAB.
Order Color by – specify what is the source of the order color. Source can be:
Default Order Color – specify what is the default color for Work Orders (and their simulations)
Show Lines Caption – specify if you want to see captions for lines (Original Planned Date/Latest Finish Date)
Show Original Planned Date – specify if you want to see the line representing original planned date
Highlight Scope from Original Planned Date - specify if the scope of work is highlighted from the originally planned date of the work order when the block is being moved
Show Latest Finish Date – specify if you want to see the line representing latest finish date
Highlight Scope to Latest Finish Date - specify if the scope of work is highlighted to the latest finish date of the work order when the block is being moved
**Work Order Visible On Group*** - specify if you want to see the block representing the work order on the group
**Work Order Simulation Visible On Group*** - specify if you want to see the block representing the work order simulation on the group
Original Planned Date Line**– specify color of the original planned date line

On the toolbar on AAB you can find all important actions mostly from the user setup, that you have access to user setup configuration without opening the user setup page.
Reload – reloads current board – use it when you expect that someone made changes in the background or just to be sure that current view is up to date
User Setup… – opens user setup page
Today – use it to scroll to the current date
Previous Week – use it to scroll to the previous week (based on the current date) – use it again to scroll to next previous week until you zoom out the current view
Current Week – use it to scroll to and zoom in the current week
Next Week – use it to scroll to the next week (based on the current date) – use it again to scroll to next week until you zoom out the current view
Apply Filter – use it to apply existing saved filter for AAB – you can use filters created by yourself or shared by someone else
Create Filter – use it to open Filter Page and create a filter for your view. You can read more about filters in the chapter about it
Clear Filter – use it to remove filter currently applied to the board
Save Filter – use it to save filter currently applied to the board
Collapse All – use it to collapse all groups of assets
Expand All – use it to expand all groups of assets
Actions below works together – when action A is visible – B is not. When action A is activated it disappears and action B is shown.
All actions in Objects group are turning on/off visibility of allocations on the board.
All actions in Search group gives a possibility to open the relevant list of records from the database and choose the record you want to find on the board. Action is enabled only when relevant objects are visible on the board. List contains only these objects that are available on the list (are in the scope of the board). For example, Work Order.
After selecting the record – the relevant block is highlighted. If it was 'hidden' in a group, or outside the current view – the view will be scrolled to the proper block.
On the left side of the board you can see assets. Assets are the core of the board because on the board you can see everything that is happening on the asset.
Asset Symbols
When symbols are shown on the asset – you can see:
You have a possibility to use right click on the row representing the asset and open the context menu – it will give you a possibility to use more actions.
Labels and tooltips are created based on data available on the asset/group and setup created in Asset Activity Board Setup.
When you are creating filters for the board – you can usefilter for:
You can also specify if you want to Show Asset Children – if selected to 'true' when you are applying filter that get an asset that is a parent for some children – it children will be shown on the board even if non of them fit to applied filter – it works only when assets are groued by parent.
Work Orders and Simulated Work Orders are blocks that represents Work Order document or Simulated Work Order document.
Color of the simulation block is always lighter than the regular Work Order.
Blocks of simulations can not be moved, they are only shown on the board.
Blocks of Work Order can be moved only when Advanced Planning in Asset Management Setup is OFF. When it is ON – you can not edit (by moving or from context menu) work order blocks on the AAB. Blocks on group can not be moved.
You can not move Work Order block between assets – if you can move them – you can do it only in the same line representing one asset.
If groups exist on the board – you can show work order block on the group. It will have different shape than original Work Order block. Also color will be lighter. What is important – if group has structure parent/children (for example Asset Locations) – block on the group will be shown from the top parent of the original group.
If you doubleclick on the block from group – the original Work Order block will be highlighted and the view will be scrolled to it.
You have a possibility to use right click on the block representing the work order and open the context menu – it will give you a possibility to use more actions.
You have a possibility to use right click on the block representing the simulated work order and open the context menu – it will give you a possibility to use more actions.
Labels and tooltips are created based on data available on the work order/simulated work order and setup created in Asset Activity Board Setup.
When you are creating filters for the board – you can use filter for:
Filter is applied to work orders and their simulations.
Asset Dowtimes and Simulated Downtimes are blocks that represents Downtime Entry document or Simulated Downtime Entry document.
Color of the simulation block is always lighter than the regular Downtime.
Blocks of simulations can not be moved, they are only shown on the board.
Blocks of Asset Dowtime can be moved only when the Downtime is not closed. When block is being moved – date and time is applied automatically to the document. Blocks on group can not be moved.
You can not move Asset Downtime block between assets – if you can move them – you can do it only in the same line representing one asset.
If groups exist on the board – you can show asset downtime block on the group. It will have the same shape as original Asset Dowtnime block. Color will be lighter. What is important – if group has structure parent/children (for example Asset Locations) – block on the group will be shown from the top parent of the original group. The same as Work Orders.
If you doubleclick on the block from group – the original Asset Downtime block will be highlighted and the view will be scrolled to it.
You have a possibility to use right click on the block representing the asset downtime and open the context menu – it will give you a possibility to use more actions.
You have a possibility to use right click on the block representing the simulated asset downtime and open the context menu – it will give you a possibility to use more actions.
Labels and tooltips are created based on data available on the asset dowtime/simulated downtime and setup created in Asset Activity Board Setup.
When you are creating filters for the board – you can use filter for:
Filter is applied to downtimes and their simulations.
In the User Setup you can set up a visibility of connection between Asset Downtime and linked with it Work Orders. This connection is visualized as an arrow from downtime to work order.
Asset Transfers on the AAB are represented by two blocks (shipping and recepit) and an arrow between these blocks. Each block represents the line from the Asset Transfer document.
Blocks of Asset Transfer (shipping or receipt) can be moved only when the Asset Transfer is not shipped. Blocks on group can not be moved.
For Asset Transfers there is a possibility to show block on groups only when assets are grouped by loctions. This is difference how asset transfers are shown on group if we compare them with other objects from the AAB.
You can not move Asset Transfer block between assets – if you can move them – you can do it only in the same line representing one asset. Because each block represents one line from the Asset Transfer document – when you move one block for the asset that is not only one asset on the asset transfer – the rest of assets (asset transfer lines) will be updated on the board.
When Asset Transfers are shown on groups, and Assets are grouped by Location – you can see the clear view what is happening with asset transfer in your company. You can remove empty groups, show assets with object, and turn off visibility of other objects, to make this view clear.
If you doubleclick on the block from group – the first transfer line block will be highlighted and the view will be scrolled to it.
You have a possibility to use right click on the block representing the asset transfer and open the context menu – it will give you a possibility to use more actions.
Tooltips are created based on data available on the asset transfer and setup created in Asset Activity Board Setup. Labels do not exist for asset transfers.
In the setup you have a possibility to configure tooltip for receipt, shipment, and transfer which is represented by the line between shipment and receipt.
When you are creating filters for the board – you can use filter for:
Maintenance Logs on the AAB are represented by the symbol of blue star.
Symbols can not be moved and data needed to create them is taken from the Maintenance Log table. Before you will show them on the board – be sure that needed data is being collected in your company – check Maintenance Log Setup. On the AAB you can check logs for changes on Asset Status, Location, and Condition.
Tooltips are created based on data available on the maintenance log and setup created in Asset Activity Board Setup. Labels do not exist for maintenance logs.
To show Production Orders on the AAB you need to install Dynaway EAM Manufacturing (2301.0.0.0 or higher).
Production Orders are blocks that represents Production Order document.
On the AAB you can see Production Orders with status:
Blocks of production orders can not be moved, they are only shown on the board.
If groups exist on the board – you can show production block on the group. Color of the block on group will be lighter. What is important – if group has structure parent/children (for example Asset Locations) – block on the group will be shown from the top parent of the original group.
If you doubleclick on the block from group – the original Production Order block will be highlighted and the view will be scrolled to it.
IMPORTANT: on the AAB you can see only these Production Orders which are related to a manufacturing center that is connected to an asset. If the downtime is creating a 'production on hold' production order – you will not see this production order on the board.
You have a possibility to use right click on the block representing the production order and open the context menu – it will give you a possibility to use more actions.
Labels and tooltips are created based on data available on the production order and setup created in Asset Activity Board Setup.
When you are creating filters for the board – you can use filter for:
