Ability to define warranty based on counter not only by date

On the warranty, you can specify what is the counter value that defines an expiration of the warranty.

To use this option you need to specify the Counter Category Code and Counter Limit. You can set up thresholds when you would like to see the notification that the license is going to be expired soon - to do this you can add percentage value or the exact value for the counter.

From now on your warranties might be calendar based or counter based only, or calendar and counter based.

On the Asset Card you can see some details with text formatting to show what is the status of the warranty.

For example:

  • warranty expired by date - counter is not important in such case so no formatting is applied to this value
  • warranty expired by date and counter - formatting is applied to all fields
  • warranty expired by counter - date is not important in such case so no formatting is applied to this value
  • date is outside the notification scope, but counter is close to the specified limit - date is shown as green and counter limit is shown as yellow
  • asset has no related counter category, so formatting is added to the date field only
  • used warranty has no time limit, so formatting is added to the counter fields only

Warranty No. field is always formatted based on the values from other related fields:

  • any field is set up as a notification about near - warranty no. is formatted in the same way
  • any statement (date/counter) is showing that warranty expired - warranty no. is formatted in the same way
