Maintain Multiple Assets

Ability to edit multiple assets

Introduction

Users can now update key asset fields to align with new naming conventions. The fields that can be updated are:

  • Asset Id
  • Asset name
  • Asset type
  • Manufacturer
  • Model

Updating Asset Fields

There are two way to update the asset fields:

  1. Direct update within AM interface: Users can update the required fields directly within the system interface.
  2. Bulk update using Excel: Bulk update using the excel import/export method.

Direct Update Within AM Interface

To manually update the fields for multiple assets within the Asset management interface,

  1. Go to Asset management > Assets > All assets.
  2. On the All assets screen, select all the assets that require updates.
  3. From the top menu, navigate to Asset > Maintain > Multiple assets (see screenshot 01).
  4. On the Maintain multiple assets screen, modify the necessary fields (Asset Id, Name, Type, Manufacturer, Model). Note that on this screen you can see the existing value of the field and the new field value. Enter the modifications in the new field column as necessary (see screenshot 02).
  5. Click the Update asset details button to save the changes.
  6. Return to the All assets screen to view the changes.

Bulk Update Using Excel

For bulk updates, users can utilize the excel import/export functionality:

  1. Go to Asset management > Assets > All assets.
  2. On the All assets screen, select the assets that require updates.
  3. From the top menu, navigate to Asset > Maintain > Multiple assets (see screenshot 01).
  4. On the Maintain multiple assets screen, you can see the list of assets selected for modification.
  5. To download the asset data file click on Download Excel (see screenshot 02).
  6. Make the required modifications to the fields externally in excel (Asset Id, Name, Type, Manufacturer, Model) as per the new convention.
  7. Upload the updated file back into the system using the Upload Excel button. (Note: You can add more assets in the Excel file by just adding the Asset Id in the Excel)
  8. Review the imported data and ensure all changes are reflected correctly.
  9. Click the Update asset details button to apply changes to the system.
