Introduction
Asset Transfer in Dynaway EAM enables organizations to move assets between locations, departments, or responsibility centers. The functionality supports planning, tracking, and documenting asset movements, ensuring accurate records and efficient operations.
Asset Transfer allows you to create transfer orders to move assets from one location to another. Each transfer order contains header information (such as transfer-from and transfer-to codes) and line details for each asset being transferred.

- Go to the Asset Transfer Orders page in Business Central.
- Select New to create a transfer order. You can also initiate asset transfers directly from the Asset Card for individual assets.
- Enter the Transfer-from Code and Transfer-to Code (locations).
- Optionally, specify an In-Transit Code for transfers using a shipping agent or temporary location.
- Add assets to the order by entering asset numbers and descriptions on the lines.
- For each line, track shipped and received status:
- Shipment Date: Enter the date when the asset is shipped from the transfer-from location.
- Received Date: Enter the date when the asset is received at the transfer-to location.
- Use the printout options to print transfer orders and receipts for documentation and handover.
- For direct posting, you can post the transfer immediately without using in-transit locations, updating asset location and status in real time.
- Use the history features to review past transfer orders, shipped/received dates, and asset movement records for audit and tracking.
- Save and release the order when ready.
- Each line represents an asset being transferred.
- Fields include Document No., Asset No., Description, Shipped, Received, Parent No., and more.
- Asset validation ensures only assets at the transfer-from location can be selected.
