You can mount a Counter and Register Counter Readings on the Asset Card.
You have completed setup for Counters.
Open an Asset list from your role center and select the Asset you want work on.
On the Asset Card, select Actions > Counter Registration to see the options for working with Counters.
You can add one or more Counters to an Asset to register, for example, production hours or quantity produced. Note that if you add multiple Counters to the same Asset, you can only use a specific Counter Category once.
If the Asset has already been in use, and you want to register a counter value from a previous IT system, refer to the Off-Counter Usage article. An off-counter registration must be made before you mount a Counter.
You can register a reading on a counter from an Asset Card or from the Counters list. A Counter reading is always added to all Assets that use the Counter.
On the Asset Card, select Process > Register Reading, or Actions > Counter Registration > Register Reading.
On the Counters list, select Counters > Counters > Register Reading.
You can remove a Counter from an Asset if the Counter is no longer required.
Before you mount a Counter on an Asset, it is possible to set a Counter value on the Asset, which is not related to a Counter in EAM-BC. This is useful if you want to add a Counter value registered in a previous IT system to an Asset, without affecting the readings on a Counter in EAM-BC.
An off-counter value must be registered before you mount a Counter on the Asset.
Example: You created a new Asset (machine) in EAM-BC, which has already run 4,000 hours. You want to register those production hours on the Asset before you mount a Counter.
Resetting Counter Readings may be needed in case of typos and asset-related issues. It is possible to cancel or reset the last Counter Reading. It's done by opening Asset Counter Entries, marking the latest and newest value, then pressing Cancel Entry. Only the last Counter Value can be cancelled.
Upon cancelling an entry, the user is asked what to cancel. It can either be the Asset Counter (when the counter reading is correct but is not needed on this Asset) or Counter Entry (when the counter reading is incorrect - this will impact all Assets using this counter).
You can create Assets with Counter Reports to get an overview of Assets and related Counter registrations.
Refer to the Test Case below for step-by-step instructions on how to create an Assets with Counter Report as an Excel file.
Refer to the article Consumption Report on Work Orders for descriptions about how to work with standard report setup, such as
The screenshots below show the setup of a report and the Excel file generated from that setup. In the example, the report includes Assets with Counter registrations on a specific Counter.
On your role center, select Reports > Assets > Assets with Counter, or search for and select Assets with Counter.
The Assets with Counter dialog opens.
Optional: If you want to generate a report for a specific Counter, select the Counter in the Counter No. field.
Select the Send to... button.
In the Choose file type pop-up, select "Microsoft Excel Document".
Select OK. The Excel file is downloaded on your device.
The user can create a report showing Assets with Counter registrations.
