Installation and License

Installation from AppSource

Dynaway EAM can be installed directly from Microsoft AppSource or from within your Business Central environment.

Prerequisites

Before installing Dynaway EAM, ensure you have:

  • A Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central environment (sandbox or production)
  • Appropriate permissions to install extensions
  • Valid Business Central user licenses

Installation steps

  1. Open Extension Management

    • In Business Central, press Alt+Q to open the search
    • Type "extension" and select Extension Management
  2. Access AppSource

    • Select Microsoft AppSource Gallery
    • Search for "Dynaway EAM"
    • Select View on AppSource
  3. Install the app

    • Select Get it now on the AppSource page
    • Follow the installation prompts
    • Wait for installation to complete
  4. Verify installation

    • Return to Extension Management
    • Select Manage > Installation Status
    • Confirm the status shows "Completed"
  5. Configure permissions

    • Select Manage > Configure
    • Enable Allow HttpClient Requests (must show green)

[!IMPORTANT] The HttpClient Requests setting is required for Dynaway EAM to function properly.

License Management

After installation, you'll need to configure your Dynaway EAM license.

Accessing license information

  1. Search for Dynaway EAM License Information
  2. The page displays your current license details including:
    • Number of licensed assets
    • User licenses (full and light users)
    • Included modules
    • Tenant ID and environment name

Obtaining a license

Free license - Register for a free license directly from the License Information page - Visit the Dynaway pricing page for eligibility criteria

Paid license - Contact the Dynaway sales team with your Tenant ID and Environment Name - Upload the provided license file from the License Information page

License types

License Type Description Use Case
Full User Complete access to all EAM features Maintenance managers, planners, technicians
Light User Limited access for basic operations Operators, viewers, occasional users
Free License Trial version and installations with limited capacity Evaluation and small implementations

Troubleshooting

Common installation issues:

  • Permission errors: Ensure you have admin rights in Business Central
  • HttpClient not enabled: Check the extension configuration settings
  • License not recognized: Verify Tenant ID and Environment Name are correct
