Setup

Setup that integrates Manufacturing for Business Central

Introduction

The first step in getting started with Dynaway EAM's integration with Manufacturing in Business Central is to link Work Centers and Machine Centers with EAM.

Linking Work Centers and Machine Centers with EAM Maintenance Assets allows operators to:

  • Create Maintenance Request
  • Register Counter & Measurement Readings
  • Register Asset Downtime
  • Operator simply use the Manufacturing module and are not forced to learn and use the EAM module.

The following illustration is useful to understand how EAM-BC integrates with Manufacturing.

Prerequisites
  • Business Central Premium license.
  • On the Company Information card, User Experience is set to 'Premium'.

Asset Management Setup

To use all capacities of connecting the maintenance module with the manufacturing module, you need to set up the following in Asset Management Setup:

  • Production Order Status*
  • Maintenance Routing No.* (must be an empty routing)
  • Counter Journal Template**
  • Counter Journal Batch**

Note: The points marked with an asteriks (*) are crucial if you want to create downtimes that will show up in the manufacturing module as a production order. This production order will inform the manufacturing team that the downtime exists for the asset connected to the machine/work center and that there is a possibility that production orders should be replanned.

Note: For the points marked with two asterisks (**), you must define the journal to which readings from the manufacturing will be added.
