Advanced Planning

Advanced Planning gives you the possibility to plan work orders for multiple dates

Introduction

Advanced Planning is a time-efficient way of planning that lets you plan maintenance work for multiple days ahead using multiple resources within the same Work Order.

Setup

To activate Advanced Planning, go to Asset Management Setup and switch on Advanced Planning in the 'Work Orders and Rounds' tab.

You will be asked for confirmation when turning on Advanced Planning. When turned on, it will:

  • Update existing work order plans with days of operation.
  • Update all work orders with starting and ending dates on their lines.
  • Run simulation of work orders again after changes.

Plan for Multiple Dates

When Advanced Planning is set up in your company, you can see new fields on plans and work orders/round orders.

Plans

On the resource plan line, you can define:

  • Order of Task - information about the order of tasks.
  • Starting Date Calculation - defines how the starting date will be calculated.
  • Days of Operation - defines how the ending date will be calculated from the starting date.
    • the initial value is 1, which means that it will be finished the same day.

When a work order is created from this plan, all values are taken into consideration to calculate starting/ending dates.

Work Orders/Round Orders

On the header of the document you can see that:

  • Planned Date is not editable.
  • Planned Ending Date iv visible and not editable.
  • Both dates are calculated automatically from resource lines.
  • If no lines exist, both dates are equal to Original Planned Date.

Starting/Ending Date(s) on resource lines are calculated from the plan but can easily be changed manually. You can also set up starting and ending times for each line.

Work Order Simulations

Advanced Planning also has an impact on all simulations. Instead of the expected Last Done Date from the Order, the expected Planned Ending Date is taken into consideration when simulations are created.
