Introduction
Work Order Groups in Dynaway EAM for Business Central let you organize and manage multiple work order plans together. Use groups to keep similar maintenance tasks synchronized across assets, locations, or schedules.
- Group work order plans to make changes to multiple plans at once.
- Ideal for assets needing the same maintenance at different locations or by different technicians.
- All changes are made on the group card and applied to all plans in the group.
- Set up a number series for Work Order Groups in Asset Management Setup.
- Add Work Order Groups to your Asset Manager Role Center for quick access
- Go to Work Order Groups in Dynaway EAM.
- Click New to create a group.
- Enter a group name and description. Fill in the category, priority, and checklist if needed.

Select assets for the group:
- Filter Assets: Add assets that match specific criteria (such as location, category, or status).
- Select Assets: Manually choose one or more assets from the list.

Select the frequency:
- One-off: Single, non-recurring work order.
- Calendar: Schedule work orders on specific dates or intervals.
- Counter: Trigger work orders based on asset counter readings.
- Measurement: Trigger work orders based on measurement values.

Assign a responsible person or team.
- Add resources, items, expenses, actions, dimensions, and documents as needed.
- Save the group by Release the document. When you set the group to Release status, the system will automatically create a work order plan for each asset in the group.
[!TIP] You can add assets after releasing the group. Use Release Pending for new assets and Release Invalid to resolve issues with invalid assets.
- Assets Tab: Add, view, and manage assets in the group. Close or detach assets as needed.
- Frequencies: Use One-off, Calendar, Measurement, or Counter frequencies. Calendar frequency allows individual dates per asset.
- Actions: Add work order actions for tasks and resources.
- Resources, Items, Expenses: Add as needed. Skills are not controlled on the group.
- Additional Parameters: Same as work order plan, but not all fields are available.
- Dimensions & Documents: Add to the group; inherited by all plans created from the group.
- Invalid Assets: Errors are shown for assets that can't be added. Invalid assets are marked in red.
- One-Off Work Orders: Create one-off frequencies for selected assets.
- Group Sequences: Automate scheduling for multiple assets using group sequences.
Common Actions
- Edit group details, add/remove assets, update parameters.
- Release group to create and release all plans.
- Track progress, costs, and resource usage for the group.
- Report on grouped work orders.
- Archive completed or obsolete groups.
- Detach or close assets instead of deleting lines.

Work Order Group Sequences allow you to automate maintenance scheduling for multiple assets in a specific order. Follow these steps to create a Work Order Group Sequence in Dynaway EAM for Business Central:
Steps to Create a Work Order Group Sequence
- Go to Work Order Group Sequences in Dynaway EAM.
- Click New to create a new sequence group.
- Enter a sequence group name and description.
- Add steps to the sequence:
- Each step represents a work order group.
- Define the order and interval for each step.
- Assign assets to the sequence group.
- Set the frequency for each step (Calendar or Counter).
- Save and release the sequence group.
- The system will automatically create work order plans for each asset according to the defined sequence.
Tips
- You can edit steps, assets, and intervals after creating the sequence group.
- Use the Release Pending status for new assets and Release Invalid to resolve issues.
- Sequence groups help streamline complex maintenance routines and ensure compliance.
