Documents and Images

Introduction

On the mobile client, you can view images and documents related to assets/objects and items. Access asset/object documents, such as manuals, directly on the mobile client when doing maintenance work. You can also add asset/object images directly from the mobile client.

Asset/Object Documents

You can add documents to assets/objects. An asset/object document can for instance be a manual for a certain asset/object type that technicians need to read when doing maintenance work.

An asset/object document is shown as an 'attachment' in the asset/object details page, the details page of a request, as well as on the work order and work order job/line details page.

To work with asset/object documents in the mobile client, you need to set up document file types for it. View the documentation here.

View the standard Microsoft documentation on how to set up asset documents here.

Product Images

You can see product images on items if images have been set up on the items.

On the Mobile Client, you can see product images related to items

  • On BOM items.
  • On spare parts.
  • When you search for and select items for item/spare part consumption registration on a work order.
  • On items downloaded for offline use in the Offline inventory module.

Setup of product images is done in D365FO > Product information management. Refer to Microsoft documentation to learn how to add an image to a product. Image updates on spare parts, BOM items, and items already registered on work orders are available on the Mobile Client after synchronization.
