Work with asset/object data offline

Introduction

When the Mobile Client is online, you can download asset/object data, allowing you to see asset/object details and create asset/object related registrations when the Mobile Client is offline.

When the Mobile Client is online, you can view asset/object-related information on all the assets/objects, which are related to the work orders assigned to you. Offline functionality allows you to work with assets/objects when the Mobile Client is offline. This is useful if you work in remote areas with limited or no internet connection. If you're allowed to work with offline assets/objects, you have access to the Offline assets/obejcts menu item on the Mobile Client.

Prerequisites

The Offline assets/objects module is available on the Mobile Client.

Work with Offline Assets/Objects

There are limitations to working with assets/objects offline. You're able to perform the following tasks on an offline asset/object:

  • Create requests.
  • Create downtime/production stop registrations.
  • Create work orders.
  • Create hour and expense registrations on a work order created offline.
  • Create item registrations on a work order created offline.

The following data is not available on offline assets/objects:

  • Counters
  • Items
  • Attributes
  • Event history
  • Asset/object documents
  • Asset/object attachments

Note

When you're offline, you can take a photo with your mobile device and attach it to an asset/object.

Work with Work Orders Created Offline

There are limitations to working on the work orders created offline. The following parts are not available on a work order created offline:

  • Checklists
  • Attachments on the work order or work order job/line.
  • Forecasts regarding spare parts, BOM, or other items.

Note

When you're offline, you can take a photo with your mobile device and attach it to the work order or work order job/line.
