Object Lists

Create and manage lists for Objects with similar charcteristics

Introduction

One predefined list is included in Assets, but you can create your own lists as you require.

Prerequisites

Setup for assets is completed on the Mobile Client.

Audience
Maintenance Manager, Technician

Overview

Asset lists work in the same way as work order lists. One predefined list is shown, Downloaded assets. This list contains the assets that are available to you online and offline. On the main menu, select Assets to go to the Asset lists screen.

You can create your own asset lists as you require. The procedure for creating an asset list is the same as when you create a work order list. Only difference is that you start on the Asset lists screen.

Example: If you want to create a list for a specific functional location, select sub-locations until you find the location you want to use in your list. You only select the location and sub-locations that should be included in your list - by inserting one or more check marks. The more locations you include in your selection, the more asset records may be included in the list.

Note

If you want to edit a list that you created: Select the list. Then select the 'More' button and Edit list. Make your changes, and save the list.

You can't edit predefined lists, but you can select a predefined list, then select the 'More' button and View list, if you want to see the parameters selected for that list.

From the Asset lists screen, you can delete a list that you created: Select the 'More' button and Edit. Then select the list, and select the delete button in the upper-right corner of the screen. You can't delete predefined lists.

Search for Objects

On the Asset lists screen or in a list (predefined and user-defined lists), you can start a search by selecting the 'More' button and Search.

You can search for:

  • Asset ID
  • Asset name
  • Serial number

Note

When you make a search on the Asset lists screen, you search in all active assets. When you make a search in a list, you only search the contents of that list.

Search for assets works both in online and offline mode. Offline mode means searching the data available on your mobile device at the time of the search.

  1. On the Asset lists screen, or in a list, select the 'More' button and Search. You can search by entering a search string in the blue search field or by scanning a QR code.
  2. Search by scanning a QR code:
    1. Select the QR code icon.
    2. Follow the instructions on the screen to scan a QR code.
  3. Search by entering a search string in the blue search field:
    1. Your search string may contain the entire ID or name, the middle of an ID or name, or part of the ID or name.
Example 1: If you enter *20 in the search field, the result is a list of assets that end with the number 20 in the ID, name, or serial number.
Example 2: If you enter *enz* in the search field, the result is a list of assets that have the letters 'enz' in the ID or name.

If you select a search result to go to an asset, the search string is reset.

Select or to cancel a search and return to the Asset lists screen.
