+How It Works+
All audit fields are automatically populated when a warranty is created - no user action required. Open any Asset Warranty Card and navigate to the "Audit Information" group to view complete creation history.
Audit Fields Available:
Warranty Source: How the warranty was created (Added Manually, Item Consumption on Work Order)
Warranty Source No. 2: Item number that triggered creation (click to open Item Card)
Created by Document No.: Work order number (click to open posted or unposted work order)
Created By: User ID who created the warranty
Created Date Time: Exact timestamp of warranty creation
Example - Item Consumption Warranty:
Warranty Source = "Item Consumption on Work Order"
Warranty Source No. = Item Category Code
Warranty Source No. 2 = Item Number (clickable)
Created by Document No. = Work Order Number (clickable)
Drill-Down Navigation:
Click "Created by Document No." to open the source work order (system searches posted work orders first, then unposted). Click "Warranty Source No. 2" to open the Item Card when warranty was created from item consumption.
+How It Does NOT Work+Read-Only Fields:
❌ Cannot manually edit any audit fields - all populated automatically by system
❌ Cannot change Created By or Created Date Time to maintain data integrity
❌ Cannot modify source information after warranty creation
Drill-Down Limitations:
❌ Item drill-down only works when Warranty Source = "Item Consumption on Work Order"
❌ Cannot drill down to items for manually added warranties
❌ Work order drill-down requires valid work order number in system
User Resolution:
❌ If user no longer exists in system, Created By field may be empty for upgraded records
❌ User GUID to username resolution happens only during upgrade, not dynamically
