A Maintenance Request can be created for an Asset or a Maintenance Request Group or a location to describe a problem that requires immediate attention, or an issue that may require further investigation.
Setup for Maintenance Requests has been completed.
Create Maintenance Requests to make a manager or planner aware that an Asset may require a maintenance or repair job - without actually creating a Work Order. If required, a Work Order may subsequently be created based on a Maintenance Request. Maintenance Requests can be created for all Assets in EAM-BC.
If you are creating Maintenance Request directly from the Asset List (using the action Create Maintenance Request from the toolbar) - the Asset No. is added automatically to the Maintenance Request creator.
You can create a Maintenance Request without selecting an Asset. This is relevant if an employee creates a Maintenance Request but does not know the exact Asset No. In that case, a detailed description is required to identify exactly where in a production department or work center a problem is reported.
