This section describes the setup tasks to be completed before you can use Lockouts in your maintenance department.
Lockout is a safety procedure to ensure that maintenance work can be carried out in a safe way in a work area. In our Lockout module you can maintain tasks and workflows related to this kind of safety work.
When you purchase the Dynaway Safe Work app, the Lockout module is included in the Dynaway Safe Work license. The Safe Work app fully integrates with EAM-BC.
You have installed and set up Enterprise Asset Management (EAM-BC) for Business Central.
You have downloaded the Dynaway Safe Work app from Microsoft AppSource.
You must set up number sequences for automatic numbering of Lockouts and Lockout Points.
This setup is optional. You can set up states to be used on your Lockout Points, if required. You update states manually on a Lockout Point.
Examples of Lockout Point States:
Refer to the test case below for a step-by-step procedure on how to set up a Lockout Point State.
On your role center, search for "lockout".
Select Lockout Point States in the list.
Select New.
Enter a Code for the state.
Enter a Description for the state.
Optional: If a selected state should no longer be used, select the Blocked check box for that state.
The user can create a Lockout Point State.
If a state is blocked, it cannot be selected on a Lockout Point record.
Improve safety on the site by automating the Lockout creation process. With Lockout Automation, Safe Work helps you remember when Work Orders need Lockout activities.
Lockout Automation Setup entries trigger when a new Work Order is created.
Lockout Automation allows you to trigger Lockouts in these scenarios:
When a Work Order Plan triggers Lockout Automation, and matches the criteria set on the Lockout Automation page, one or more Lockouts with proper Lockout Points will be generated. Work Order No. is visible on the Lockout card.
