Setup required for working with Safety Incidents

Introduction

Register and report incidents that occur at your company and track the progress of incidents reported to a health insurance company. Registering an incident can be done by employees, and the progress of incidents can be tracked and closed when finished. You can add documents, photos, and information about an incident such as affected employee, location, and time and date of the incident etc. You can also track any legal actions that have been taken, and view costs related to incidents.

This section describes tasks to be completed before you can use Safety Incidents.

When you purchase the Dynaway Safe Work app, the Tagout module is included in the Dynaway Safe Work license. The Safe Work app fully integrates with EAM-BC.

Prerequisites

You have installed and set up Enterprise Asset Management (EAM-BC) for Business Central.
You have purchased and downloaded the Dynaway Safe Work app from Microsoft AppSource.

Set Up Number Series

To get started with Safety Incidents, you need to first set up number series.

  1. On your role center, search for "safe work" and select Safe Work Setup.
  2. In the Safety Incident Nos. field, select a number sequence for Safety Incidents.

Set up Days to Reopen Safety Incident

You can set up how many Days To Reopen Safety Incident you will have after closing it.

  1. On your role center search for "safe work" and select Safe Work Setup.
  2. Go to the Safety Incidents FastTab.
  3. Enter the number of days in the Days To Reopen Safety Incident field.

By default, the Days To Reopen Safety Incident is set to 2 days. If you set it to 0, you will not be able to reopen the Safety Incident.

Set up Incident Statuses

You need to set up Incident Statuses before you can create a Safety Incident.

  1. On your role center, search for "incident statuses" and select Incident Statuses.
  2. On the Incident Statuses list, select New, then add Code and Description.
  3. You have to specify one of the statuses as a Default one, it will appear on the Safety Incident card after the creation.
  4. You can specify multiple statuses (but at least one) as Closing Status, if you change Safety Incident Status to one of those, the Safety Incident will be closed.

Set up Incident Type

You can set up Incident Types so you can choose a type of incident on the Safety Incident card from the ones you've specified.

  1. On your role center, search for "incident type" and select Incidents Types.
  2. On the Incident Types list, select New, then add Code and Description.
  3. You can choose one of the Types as a Default one, which will appear on the Safety Incident card after the creation.

Set up Body Parts

You can set up Body Parts so you can choose a body part affected on the Safety Incident card from the ones you've specified.

  1. On your role center, search for "body parts" and select Body Parts.
  2. On the Body Parts list, select New, then add Code and Description.

Set up Incident Severities

You can set up Incident Severities so you can choose the severity of an incident on the Safety Incident card from the ones you've specified.

  1. On your role center, search for "incident severities" and select Incident Severities.
  2. On the Incident Severities list, select New, then add Code and Description.
  3. You can choose one of the Incident Severities as a Default one, which will appear on the Safety Incident card after the creation.

Set up Incident Outcomes

You can set up Incident Outcomes so you can choose an outcome of an incident on the Safety Incident card from the ones you've specified.

  1. On your role center, search for "incident outcomes" and select Incident Outcomes.
  2. On the Incident Outcomes list, select New, then add Code and Description.

Set up Treatment Types

You can set up Treatment Types so you can choose what kind of treatment has been issued after an incident on the Safety Incident card.

  1. On your role center, search for "treatment types" and select Treatment Types.
  2. On the Treatment Types list, select New, then add Code and Description.
  3. You can specify if the treatment required Emergency Room Visit, Overnight Stay, or both.

Set up Corrective Actions

You can set up Corrective Actions so you can choose which corrective actions have to be conducted on the Safety Incident card to prevent incidents in the future.

  1. On your role center, search for "corrective actions" and select Corrective Actions.
  2. On the Corrective Actions list select New, then add Code and Description.

Set up Incident Costs

You can set up Incident Costs on the Safety Incident card so you can choose what costs are related to the safety incidents.

  1. On your role center search for "incident costs" and select Incident Costs.
  2. On the Incident Costs list, select New, then add Code and Description.

Set up Reporting Agencies

You can set up Reporting Agencies, so you can choose on the Safety Incident card which reporting agency has to be informed about the incident.

  1. On your role center search for "reporting agencies" and select Reporting Agencies.
  2. On the Reporting Agencies list, select New, then add Code and Description.
