Using fault designer you can:

You use fault management in Asset management.
You have the possibility to easily create fault combinations, as well as update fault combinations for all asset types. When using the functionality 'Create fault combinations' all previous faults set up for an asset type are deleted, and all possible fault symptoms, fault areas, and fault types are added.

On the Fault designer form, you can filter all asset types without fault combination setup to quickly get an overview of any new asset types to be set up. See screenshot 01 below.
It's possible to link fault causes and fault remedies to asset type.
When registering faults in the 'Asset faults' page, you can select those fault causes and fault remedies that have been set up on asset type of the selected asset. This ensures that only relevant and asset-specific fault causes and fault remedies are available for selection.
If no fault causes and fault remedies have been set up, you can select all fault causes or fault remedies in the system.
You can speed up the process of setting up fault causes and fault remedies on asset type by using the 'Create fault combinations' and 'Copy from asset type' functionalities in the 'Fault designer' page.
You can see some examples of fault causes and fault remedies on an asset type in screenshot 01 below. In the list to the left in the screenshot, you can also see an overview of the faults set up for the asset. The format for the faults overview is: symptoms/areas/types/causes/remedies and in the example in the list, you can see that the Air Compressor has 24 fault symptoms, 4 fault areas, 6 fault types, 5 fault causes, and 3 fault remedies.
